
LOCAL ASSOCIATION BYLAWS
Article 1
Name
The name of the organization is the Niagara Tenpin Bowling Association
An association chartered by CTF.
Jurisdiction
This organization is formed for the purpose of uniting in a central organization all members of qualified bowling teams, leagues and
affiliated individuals bowling in certified establishments located in the following cities Grimsby Beach, Beamsville,
St Catharines Thorold, Niagara Falls, Ridgeway, Fort Erie, Welland, Port Colborne, and Dunnville. For boundary lines that have been
established for this association please see accompanying map on last page of bylaws.
Article 11
No-profit Incorporation and Charter
The Niagara Tenpin Bowling Association will be a non-profit organization.
Section B Charter
The association shall be chartered by CTF and subject to its authority.
To maintain its charter the association must.
1. Adopt bylaws approved by the CTF Board.
2. Not enact any bylaws or rules inconsistent with the CTF bylaws.
3. Adhere to performance standards and stated requirements as set forth in the CTF Policy
. Manual
Apply for renewal of its charter every five years. (See the Suspension and Reinstatement
Chapter for suspension, revocation and appeal procedures.)
Membership and Dues
Membership is composed of individuals who pay dues to the association and is in effect from August 1 of one calendar year through
July 31 of the following calendar year. An individual joining a summer league after March 15 shall pay the dues that are know to be,
or become effective for the next current season. On payment of the dues, the individual shall become a member for the balance of the
current season and the next season. Each individual shall pay national, local and provincial dues (where applicable). The board by
two-thirds vote determines dues amount. (See CTF Policy Manual for dues structures)
The Board may waive all or part of local dues for:
A. Members of other CTF associations if the association has a reciprocal agreement
With the association.
B. Other groups, such as seniors. Act, as determined by the board.
The association cannot charge additional non-dues assessment.
Membership and Dues cont:
The annual membership dues for Men and Women shall be as follows.
.1. CTF Dues $14:00 per member. Provincial Dues $1:00 & Local Association $5:00
Total dues $20:00
2. Seniors bowling in senior closed leagues only will be $13:00. All others $18:00
3. Youth Members CTF Dues $12:00. Provincial Dues $1:00 & Local Association $3:00
Total Dues $16:00
4. Local association membership only will be $5:00
Article V
Board of Directors _ Management
Section A. Board Composition, Authority and Duties
The management and governance of the association is vested in the Board of Directors.
The number of directors is 14. The board determines the maximum number of Directors.
The Board shall not engage in any act of conflict of interest.
The Board’s duties include but are not limited to
1. Enforcing the bylaws.
2. Complying with the CTF Policy Manual.
3. Ensuring adherence to all CTF Performance Standards.
4. Conducting Local tournaments for men, women and youth members.
5. Providing education, training, evaluations, recognition and other services as established by CTF.
6. Implementing all CTF programs.
7. Electing the officers of the association.
8. Employing/selecting and evaluating performance of Association Manager.
9. Approving use of membership records.
10. Rating the league average of an association member when there is evidence the bowlers average does not represent the bowlers true
ability.
11. Conducting suspension and reinstatement hearings. (See the Suspension and Reinstatement Chapter for rating, Suspension, reinstatement
and appeal procedures.)
Section B. Eligibility
Candidates for the board must be:
1. A member in good standing of the association at the time of election and
Throughout their term.
2, Elected pr appointed without regard to race, color, religion, sex, disability,
National origin, or age, other than the minimum age of 18 years.
3. Collectively be reasonably representative of males and females. .
A maximum of three bowling center proprietors may serve on the Board at one time,
A proprietor is a individual who is the owner, partner, or corporate officer of the bowling center or group of bowling centers. Excluded
from the definition of proprietor is an individual who owns 25 percent or less of the equity shares, or who is inactive in management of
the bowling center and remains so during a term as director.
Section C. Election of Directors
Directors are elected by a majority vote of the members present and voting at a properly noticed meeting, at which a quorum is present,
form
1. A slate provided by the Nominating Committee.
2. Nominating from the floor. Qualifications must be submitted to the nominating.
Committee.
Mail and proxy voting are prohibited.
Section D. Term
The term office shall be as follows
President Three Years Vice- President Three Years
Directors Three Years
The terms of officers shall begin on August 1’st.
